The PC-X1000 was JVC's top-of-the-line boombox for 1990. It's a 3-piece with a subwoofer mounted in the center unit.

JVC PC-X1000

This was JVC's top model for 1990. It's kind of questionable to call it a boombox, it doesn't run on batteries. It's AC only. And no wonder, because it's heavy as hell!! It consists of the following components:

  • Center unit (PC-RX1000)
  • Two speakers (PC-BX1000)
  • CD changer cassette (XC-M75 for 12cm CDs, or XC-M73 for 8cm CD singles)
  • Remote control (RM-RP1000).

The tape decks feature Dolby B, autoreverse, relay play, high-speed dubbing, and CD synchro-start recording. There is a subwoofer (3D Hyper-Bass) inside the center unit, behind the tape decks. There is also an EQ surround feature called Live Effex. Output power is allegedly 70 watts maximum (36W to the subwoofer, and 2x17W to the detachable speakers).
